A developer shared something worth stopping for last week:

How the quota math actually works
Worth being precise about this, because the original claim implies otherwise.
Sentry counts events when they arrive, not when you resolve them. Closing an issue doesn't refund quota already spent. What the auto-fix loop actually does is stop the bleeding faster. A bug that fires 200 times a day gets a fix pushed to production by evening instead of sitting in a backlog until Friday. A coding agent with repo write access is a real attack surface. A few non-negotiable constraints:

- No direct merge — all PRs require human approval, full stop
- CI must pass before the PR is even reviewable — linter, type checker, test suite
- Directory allowlist — the agent should not touch

Plan for one to two days the first time:

Does this work for JavaScript frontend errors?
Yes, if your frontend repo is accessible to the agent. Sentry captures browser errors the same way it captures backend ones. What if the agent opens a wrong PR?
It will happen. The agent misreads context, fixes the symptom, or changes something adjacent without realizing the dependency. This is expected.
